OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY AN INTEGRATED PLM ENVIRONMENT FOR DIGITAL COMPOSITE DESIGN

摘要

This paper investigates some recent capabilities that Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution offers to companies designing and manufacturing composite parts. The investigation focuses on the four following topics: the usage of template technology to reduce design time of composite engineering model, the design optimization of composite parts inside the same environment as design, the automatic reuse of engineering information to perform manufacturing planning and lastly the assembly tolerance analysis considering part flexibility. For each topic an example is provided with simple data.
