The "third" generation management is not coming, it is here. Workers are being treated like assets, and those companies that do use "third" generation management style are doing very well in image, value offered, quality performance and (not surprisingly) in the profit and loss column. If steps are not taken to upgrade the educational level of today's US worker at existing plants, that worker's job will ultimately be eliminated. If not by the company closing and starting up somewhere else, then by offshore producers capturing the market and forcing the ultimate closing of the existing plant. The well paying manufacturing job (over $7.50/hour) requiring no skills or post high school education is being exported. At the current rate, the job will have left the United States by the end of the next decade.
