Summary: The accuracy of Chaudhri's method for charged particle activation analysis, which reduces this to the simplicity of neutron activation analysis, has been further demonstrated by extensive calculations.The nuclear reaction ~63Cu(3He,p)~65Zn has been examined for the determination of ~63Cu in matrices of Ca, Zr and Pb at bombarding energies of 4-22 MeV. The "standard" is assumed to be in a carbon matrix. It has been shown that Chaudhri's method provides results which are almost identical, or no more than 1-2 % different from the results obtained by using the full "Activity Equation" even when the difference in the matrices of the sample and the "standard" is large.
