摘要

Prior to delivery of therapeutic molecules to humans, it is customary to test the safety of such compounds in animals, often mice. Unfortunately, although mice are often the most economical species, they may not always be the best animal to measure relevant efficacy of specific compounds. The reason for this is the physiology of the mouse is significantly different from humans or other large animals. To complement studies in mice, we have been using large animals as a target species as well as models for human therapeutics.
