An Electromechanical Device for Automatically Shaping Tortillas, Snacks and Food Products

The present work, describes an electromechanical device for the automatically shaping tortillas. As a background information the evolution of com tortilla production technology, is also presented. The electromechanical device developed, substitutes of traditional cam mechanism with a great deal of advantage, in terms of flexibility to produce, practically, any tortillas shape. A number of tortilla shapes are presented to illustrate the wide variety of tortilla shapes that can be obtained with the electromechanical device developed.
