Due to the anisotropic properties of composite materials, fatigue problems for multi-layered composite laminates are multi-axial. Generally the effect of shear and transverse normal stress on fatigue strength of the laminate is neglected by only using the stress-life(S-N) curve for longitudinal direction. The transverse normal and shear stress in fatigue life estimations are neglected to erroneous results. The several multi-axial fatigue failure criteria are suggested, hi this paper, the stress-life(S-N) curve is estimated for multi-layered composite laminates by using the multi-axial fatigue failure criterion. The stress-life curve is predicted by comparing with the results of high-cycle fatigue tests on the CFRP composite laminates.
