摘要

The manner in which the resultant force from an electrodynamic exciter acting on a multi-mode system deviates from a constant value is described in some detail. It is shown that the generalised properties of the structure must be considered together with the exciter properties in order to correctly predict the 'drop-out' in the force spectrum. The effect that this has upon the behaviour of non-linear systems is then described using a combination of experimental and analog circuits.
