EUROMET Strategy for Metrology in Europe and the Review Process of European NMIs’ Quality Systems

Metrology, the science of measurement, plays a key role in research, in industrial processes, in international trade and in everyday life. Accurate and reliable measurements, i.e. traceable to the SI units, are an essential pre-requisite in assuring product quality, in supporting environmental, health and safety issues and serve to protect the customer. A reliable measurement system is based on measurements in agreement with internationally recognised measurement standards.
