Twenty seven serum samples were negative in ELISA and all the blood DNA samples were also negative in nested-PCR. Two doubtful and twenty five semen samples were negative by PCR standard and 4 positive by nested-PCR. The positive DNA demonstrated the typical amplicon bands corresponding to 218 pb for the env gene of BLV. The results of DNA amplification provided evidence for the expression of the env gene of BLV in the semen of infected animals.
