Web Services Implementation:Sharing Environmental data Across the National Network

摘要

The U.S.Environmental Protection Agency is working with States and Tribes to establish a National Environmental Information Exchange Network(NEIEN).A critical component of the NEIEN involves EPA and States setting up network nodes to exchange environmental data.This paper describes EPA's Network Node effort.It includes a brief introduction to XML and SOAP,a description of the mechanism used to generate nodes service requests,the general architecture of the State/EPA nodes,and the security measures used to protect the data exchanges.
