Clinical experience and publications suggest a marked increase in the incidence of nephrolithiasis and ureterolithiasis, especially in cats, during the past few years. The incidence of calcium oxalate urolithiasis has also shown a dramatic increase, although the exact reasons for this increase have not been determined. It is likely that these two phenomenon are related.
