Synthesis and Structures of Group 10 Metal Complexes with New Tripodal Tetradentate Ligands Bearing One Phosphine and Three Sulfides Fragments

In recent years, much attention has been fucused on the chemistry of transition metal complexes bearing tripodal tetradentate ligands from the viewpoints of their unique structure, catalytic activities, and so on. Although there are many reports on the tripodal tetradentate ligands bearing nitrogen or phosphorus atoms, the chemistry of those bearing three sulfide moieties is less explored. As for such a ligand, tris(o-methyl-thiophenyl)phosphine (1a) has been previously studied, and there are several reports on the synthesis and structue of its complexes with Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II), and Tc(III) metals. In this work, we describe the synthesis and structure of isopropylthio- (1b) and t-butylthio- (1c) derivatives and their complexes with group 10 metals.
