Proposal of construction of a directional coupler loaded with a transverse Bragg grating in the GaAs/AlGaAs MQW heterostructure, is presented. Authors analyze the propagation of light within strip waveguides, application of the third-order Bragg grating analyzed. The geometrical properties of the device have been determined with special attention paid to ensuring the simplicity of the device manufacturing.
