摘要

We describe a set of experiments aimed at evaluating the effect of a low-power, atmospheric pressure plasma on the detachment and migration of living cells. The plasma is produced ionizing a helium flow, mixed with ambient air, using a RF voltage, within a plasma source specifically designed for living matter treatment. The plasma does not get in contact with the substrate to be treated, but rather produces within the source a wealth of active chemical species which are then carried out by the helium flow. The effects have been tested on conjunctival fibroblasts. The tests show that the plasma treatment induces a stronger adhesion of the cells to the substrate and enhances their ability to migrate.
