摘要

The aim of this study was to develop an appropriate carrier for hydroxyapatite (HA) porous particles that are typically used as fillers of bone and dentistry defects. These carriers should be biodegradable, present a high swelling degree and must not change the morphology and bioactivity of the porous HA particles, aiming at being used in bone regeneration applications. This work reports on the study of aqueous behaviour and in-vitro bioactivity of the developed composite chitosan membranes. The influence of crosslinking with glutaraldehyde and incorporation of HA porous particles was evaluated. It was possible to confirm the in-vitro bioactive behaviour of the composite membranes, which was clear after 3 days of immersion in SBF. These results suggest the potential of the developed membranes to be used on applications on which to disclose bone-bonding properties is a desired feature.
