Verification of Reclaimed Area in Asaluyeh Oil Complex Port, Iran

摘要

The Construction of petrochemical plants in Asaluyeh requires a cut and fill earthwork operations to form a horizontal level in the steep coastal zone of the area at north of Persian Gulf. Dynamic consolidation is employed for soil improvement in backfilled area and areas reclaimed from the sea due to the limited spaces. Compaction methods and performed tests are described for coarsegrained fill materials used in the site. Interpretation of results is complicated based on material types and require some engineering judgment. Present studies suggest that dynamic consolidation was not a perfect procedure in this case and some fills or natural soils remained unimproved. The results of the study indicate that more investigations should be carried out for perfect analysis. The site is still under earthwork operations.
