摘要

This paper aims to carry out a case study on the buffeting response of the Tsing Ma suspension bridge under skew winds and to compare the computed buffeting responses with the measured buffeting responses of the bridge during Typhoon Sam. The field-measured data of wind and bridge acceleration responses are first processed to obtain relevant wind characteristics and bridge modal damping ratios, which are required in the computation as input parameters, and the acceleration response spectra and RMS responses of the bridge under skew wind for comparison. The buffeting responses of the Tsing Ma Bridge under skew winds during Typhoon Sam are then computed using a newly-developed finite element-based method in the frequency-domainF inally, the computed bridge responses are compared with the field-measured results, and the comparison is found satisfactory in general.
