An approach to semantic mapping using product ontology for CPC environment

This paper describes an approach to semantic mapping using a Product ontology for CPC (Collaborative Product Commerce) environment. In the CPC environment, it is necessary that collaborators in the product life cycle should understand the semantics of terms of information. As one solution for this, we explain Product ontology design and semantic mapping based on an ontology. We investigated the BOM (Bill Of Material) knowledge domain, and organize the knowledge into an ontology by using a first order logic theory, KIF (Knowledge Interchange Format) and a knowledge engineering process. In semantic mapping, we referred to ISO 18629 PSL (Process Specification Language), and explain syntactic translation, semantic translation, and semantic mapping procedures based on Product ontology in detail.
