摘要

This paper describes the design, field deployment and operation of a unique hydraulic turbine driven submersible downhole pumpset for multiphase boosting of hydrocarbon wells. The pumpset is an evolutionary development of the hydraulic turbine driven pump concept, which was first applied to well boost duties in the mid 1980s. The successful deployment of the new design in a subsea field has shown that continuous, reliable operation can be achieved in a downhole multiphase produced fluid environment.
