A theoretical study of wind power potential in cote d'ivoire using the weibull distribution

In this paper, we present the results of a theoretical study of wind power in Cote d'Ivoire. The study starts with the analysis of wind data of three different towns, Abidjan, Bouake and Korhogo, respectively located in the south, the center and the north of the country. This analysis allowed us to calculate the Weibull distribution parameters, from samples of monthly average speeds of the wind. We then calculated the average power in the wind, per unit area, in each of the three zones. We also studied the theoretical wind duration in Korhogo, for every month. Finally, we could study the average water flow rate for a specific water pumping need, and the diameter of a wind turbine used to pump this water.
