Studies on the Preparation of Reaction Flavors for Tobacco with Yunyan Tobacco Concrete

Reaction flavors for tobacco was manufactured utilizing Yunyan Tobacco concrete as a kind of sugar source of Maillard reaction. In addition, the experimental reproducibility of the reaction flavors was analyzed by the method of Headspace-Solid Phase Microextraction-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (HS-SPME-GC-MS). It showed that Yunyan Tobacco concrete was an ideal sugar source for manufacturing tobacco reaction flavors. The sample manufactured at moderate temperature could retain the aromatic components of Yunyan tobacco concrete and produce lots of new flavoring components that could enhance tobacco flavor. The reaction flavors could be harmonious well with tobacco besides improving and softening tobacco flavor. In addition, it could decrease the strength and irritancy of tobacco.
