This paper analyzed the causes that result in the oscillation period error of RC oscillator and introduced two methods respectively to improve the timing accuracy of the timer efficiently without affecting the shock resistance quality of timing circuit, one method utilizes quartz-crystal oscillator and the other utilizes exterior calibration. These methods can be employed in the design for the instruments that commit to high impact such as projectile timing fuse and electronic delay exploder etc.
