It is known [1, 2] that in high electric fields (F > 5 V/nm) the thermal field emission from the pointed metal emitter surface is a non-stationary process. In this case the pulsed current-voltage characteristic (CVC) of the vacuum diode with a metallic (W, Mo, Ta, Nb) pointed cathode-emitter deviates from the so called Flwoer -Nordhaim (F-N) straight line. Earlier space-charge field (SCF) calculations for a spherically symmetric model of the vacuum diode suggested that the indicated deviation could be caused by the influence of the SCF of emitted electrons.
