Experiences in Retrofit Project of Kaltim-ll Ammonia Plant:Increasing Production Capacity by Improving Plant Reliability

摘要

The KALTIM-II Ammonia plant built in 1984 was designed by MW Kellogg,originally to produce 1,500 MTPD of ammonia.The plant underwent a revamp of the Ammonia converter in 1992 to increase the ammonia production to 1,661 MTPD.hi the end of 1999 the plant underwent a retrofit project.The retrofit project was intended to increase the production capacity by improving the plant reliability to produce synthesis gas,which equals to 2,000 MTPD of ammonia in the front end,and 1,800 MTPD of ammonia in the synthesis loop.
