MCD peptide has interesting biological activities,such as a concentration dependent histaminic/antihistaminic action.It has also been shown that MCD peptide binds to mast cell receptors and inhibit s IgE binding to these receptors [1].MCD peptide is a 22-amino acid bicyclic peptide with two disulfide bridges between cysteines at positions 3,15 and 5,19:IKCNCKRHVIKPHICRKICGKN-NH_2.In previous studies we attempted to determine which parts of the MCD peptide molecule are important for activity [2].
