摘要

A system of biaxially oriented polypropylene (PP) tape coated with hot melt rubber, and bonded over glass resin was irradiated with 248 nm KrF excimer laser to establish a method to evaluate the quality of adhesion, as well as the directionality induced during manufacture. The effect of the tape direction resulted in more ablated area in the strength direction position than in transverse direction. A physical correlation was found between the effects created by irradiation below the ablation threshold (bubble widths), and their respective peel adhesion values, which allowed to propose a method to evaluate the quality of adhesion for pressure sensitive tapes.
