Various commercially available tapes covered by government specifications were analyzed for use as an environmental seal on an anodized aluminum surface (Body 8831343 of BLU-4A/B). Polyester film, pressure-sensitive adhesive tape (Specification L-T-100a) and aluminum foil pressure-sensitive adhesive tape (Specification MIL-T-11291) were selected for testing as applied to the end item.nAssemblies consisting of one-half tech squares of each tape applied to the body castings were subjected to environmental conditioning. As time did not permit the standard 28-day Temperature - Humidity Test, a modified program was conducted .
