An inverse problem is formulated to estimate the heat transfer coefficients on the external surface of a cooled turbine blade. A lumped 1-D compressible flow solver with friction and heat transfer coupled to a cross-sectional BEM heat conduction solver is used to solve the associated conjugate problem. A genetic algorithm is used to solve the inverse problem.
