DETECTION OF MULTIRESISTANT SALMONELLA TYPHIMUTIUM DT104 BY MULTIPLEX PCR

Multiresistant Salmonella typhimnrium DT104 has been reported in humans, cattle, swine and many other species (1). DT104 is characterized by chromosomal resistance to ampicillin (A), chloramphenicol (C), streptomycin (S), sulfonamides (Su) and tetracycline (T) and is generally referred to as resistance (R) type ACSSuT. We developed and performed multiplex PCR to detect 5. typhimurium DT104 from swine feces.
