THE OPTICAL AND ELECTROLUMINESCENT PROPERTIES OF TWO KINDS OF NOVEL PPV DERIVATIVES CONTAINING OXADIZOLE SEGMENTS IN MAIN OR SIDE CHAINS WERE STUDIED. THE EXCITATION ENERGY OF OXADIZOLE SEGMENTS IN SIDE CHAINS TRANSFERS TO MAIN CHAINS AND LIGHT EMISSION OF PPV DERIVATIVES COMES FROM MAIN CHAINS. THE PPV DERIVATIVES CONTAINING OXADIZOLE SEGMENTS POSSESS ELECTRON AND HOLE TRANSPORT ABILITY. FURTHERMORE, THE TWO TYPES CHARGE CARRIER CURRENTS CAN BE ADJUSTED BY GRAFTING DIFFERENT RATIO OF ELECTRON AND HOLE TRANSPORT SEGMENTS IN PPV DERIVATIVES.
