The present invention relates to poly (1,4-phenylenevinylene) (PPV) and its derivatives, which are most widely used as light emitting materials for electroluminescent devices, by using a thiophenoxy precursor polymer. The present invention describes a method for controlling the conjugation length of a PPV derivative using the fact that thiophenoxy prepolymers are very stable in air and removal reactions occur only above 300 ° C.
