14- Controlling method of the conjugation length of PPV derivatives using thiophenoxy precursor for preparing poly14-phenylene vinylene and an electroluminescence device with the PPV derivatives controlled by the same
The present invention relates to poly (1,4-phenylenevinylene) (PPV) and its derivatives, which are most widely used as light emitting materials for electroluminescent devices, by using a thiophenoxy precursor polymer. The present invention relates to a method for controlling the conjugation length of a derivative and an electroluminescent device. The present invention describes a method for controlling the conjugation length of a PPV derivative using the fact that thiophenoxy prepolymers are very stable in air and removal reactions occur only above 300 ° C. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, water soluble prepolymers in which PPV or PPV derivatives are dissolved in water are synthesized, and then, the desired amount of thiophenoxy is added by reacting sodium thiophenoxide with a desired equivalent to the synthesized water soluble polymer. After producing as much thiophenoxy-substituted oligomer, the polymer was removed by vacuum heat treatment at 200 ° C. so that the water-soluble prepolymer portion was completely removed and conjugated, and the thiophenoxy-substituted portion was At the temperature there is no elimination reaction, so it remains unconjugated. In this way, the conjugation length of the PPV derivative can be adjusted, and the emission wavelength of the PL and the electroluminescent device can be easily adjusted through such conjugation control.
