EVALUATING THE HOLISTIC DECISION ARCHITECTURE USING AN ORGANIZATIONAL METRICS SYSTEM

Producing accurate business models alone does not pave the way for successful Enterprise Integration (EI) initiatives. Systems of Organisational Metrics are needed to relate current practice to manufacturing best practice and identify pockets for potential improvement. This paper presents a System of Organisational Metrics to evaluate the holistic decision architecture of a manufacturing system. It comprises of: (a) The key Decision Domains, (b) Operational Indexes used to measure the degree of excellence, and (c) Examination Categories/Evaluation Criteria, facilitating evaluation of the contribution of individual Decision Domains towards the attainment of particular operational indexes, where this is applicable.
