A Method to Accelerate the Calibration of RF-EMS Test

This paper introduces a method to accelerate the calibration of RF-EMS test----"calculation approach method". The RF-EMS Automatic Test Software generally uses "step by step approach method" to calibrate the test field. During the calibration, the "step by step approach method" needs several times of "setting the amplitude of output signal and reading the field strength" at each test frequency to create a test field meeting the need of standard, this result in long calibration time. In order to reduce the calibration time, the author deduced the relation between the signal output level and the field strength at reference point based on antenna theory, and made some experiments to verify the deduced relation. The experiments proved the correctness of the deduced relation. The author brought forward the "calculation approach method" for calibration and developed the RF-EMS automatic test software based on the deduced relation between the signal output level and the field strength at reference point. The practice indicated that "calculation approach method" can accelerate the calibration process, shorten the calibration time and improve test efficiency.
