摘要

The intent of this paper is to present a brief overview of dairy nutrition research that was conducted during the first 50 years of the University of Guelph, from 1964 to 2014. Over this time period there were 10 professors whose programs of researchinvolved nutrition of dairy cattle. The research associated with these professors' names was carried out by teams of dedicated and talented graduate students, technicians and collaborators too numerous to list inclusively. To avoid the embarrassment of unintentional omissions of the names of those who were involved, the choice was made to present research activities under the names of these professors only, and leave the listing of specific contributors to the bibliography and to those articles accessible in the public record.
