Enacting Platforms Towards the Evaluation of an IT System: Reflections from Organisation-Based Action Research

摘要

This paper presents the findings derived from a 'real-world' research. The emphasis made is related to the implementation and evaluation of an IT system. Despite all the planning surrounding this IT project, the situation was that managers encountered a much more complex task than they had envisaged. To overcome the situation a 'Thinking Space' emerged. The paper concludes with the generalisation of the Thinking Space, namely 'Platforms' as an approach towards enhancing the organisational capability to embark on processes towards the implementation and evaluation of IT systems in today's organisations.
