Employees generally want to be effective members of your team. That may be a big assumption, but if we've hired right (a good candidate, solid references, great personality, solid skills, and a coachable attitude), we have the opportunity to mold theminto superstars. Yet one of the most valuable opportunities we have often goes unused or we don't properly utilize the opportunity so that the employee settles into a comfort zone of performance well below the level of performance the hospital expects.The opportunity that is often missed is feedback in the form of performance appraisals.
