RECOGNITION MANAGEMENT OF SYSTEMIC HYPERTENSION

Systemic hypertension, abnormally high pressure within the systemic arteries, is an important clinical entity in the cat. Hypertension may cause blindness and contributes to the development of renal dysfunction. During this session, the basis of blood pressure measurement and the clinical management of systemic hypertension will be reviewed. Technical aspects of blood pressure determination also will be emphasized.
