Description of a new PWM-Extended DTC Strategy for Induction Motor Drives

In this paper, the authors propose to extend the Direct Torque Control (DTC) concept. We first redraw the conventional DTC scheme in such a way that the switching table is no longer necessary. Then, starting from the previous result, we develop a new PWM-Extended DTC strategy. Actually, with the proposed method, torque chattering and acoustic noise are significantly reduced. Experimental results are carried out to validate the proposed approach.
