The use of PowerPoint presentations, standardized forms, Standard Operating Procedures, a multi-level training guide, and one-on-one training results in a well structured training program. The purpose of this paper is to guide veterinary supervisors and lead technicians in the training of veterinary technicians and assistants in the field of exotics. This program covers step-by-step training strategies involving avian, reptile, and small exotic mammals. Techniques, treatments, and monitoring are included.
