For the dimensioning of tunnel installations such as doors, gates, glazing, baffles, dampers, the aerodynamic loads caused by traffic will have to be known. If starting from inadequate load assumptions, this may either lead to these components being subject to malfunction or damage or to these components being excessively expensive. In the present case, the Hosbach -Goldbach enclosure, the exact determination of the aerodynamic forces acting inside the tunnel is of special importance, since extensive window areas are to be provided at the entrance of the tunnel in order to promote daylight admission.
