The importance of choice-making skill have been emphasized especially for students with severe/profound disabilities. For many Korean students with severe disabilities, however, there has been a lot of barriers in both the opportunity and the access level for communicating their preferences. Most of them were denied from the opportunity to make choices due to environmental factors such as living in institutions, or adults' decision making on behalf of the students with severe disabilities. Also, they frequently were deprived of means to make a choice, and the instruction needed to learn it. This study was conducted to find the acquisition, generalization and maintenance effect of the choice-making skill instruction for 3 students with severe disabilities. It is a pioneering study of this kind in Korea, but we tried to integrate current best practices into the experimental procedures : natural consequences and natural contexts of choice-making. Generalization and maintenance data were also collected as well as choice-making skill acquisition.
