Dynamic Drive is a cost and energy-optimised active roll stabilization system, which produces an optimal self-guidance behaviour by distribution of the stabilization torque between front and rear axles dependent on the driving conditions. The handling and agility are both clearly improved thereby leading to a new level of the BMW typical 'joy in driving' or 'ultimate driving machine". In addition, one experiences a subjective improvement in driving safety and ride comfort. In this paper, the system as well as its main components are presented and the functional benefit is discussed by means of measurement results.
