The last decade has seen an enormous growth in intercountry road travel - both with business and vacation travellers. The single currency in the EU, the abolition of internal borders and development in the strategic road network. Expansion of theEU to the east will mean further development in road transport - and more travelers driving in countries where they do not speak the language and where roadside assistance is thin on the ground and of variable quality.
