Heuristics for internationally distributed collaboration (IDC) between Japan and the United States

In the future, collaborative research, engineering design, and student learning will not be confined to individuals in the same geographical area or even the same countries. This work in progress presents small samples of the differences in theheuristics for creative work used in Japan and the United States and heuristics to allow effective collaboration.
