This paper has shown effective and practical uses of advanced flip chip microsurgery techniques as applied to state of the art integrated circuits. Actual edit scenarios and methodologies were described with consideration to the tool's capabilities and deposited material properties. The paper then described a synergistic approach between the microsurgery tools that effectively broadened the edit capability beyond traditional frontside approaches. Finally, the paper described how implementing these techniques have resulted in a success rate of at least 80% for a broad range of design changes.
