JavaScript Programme for Clinical Case Simulations

摘要

Problem-solving case approach is an efficient and powerful method for teaching clinical concepts. This method makes medical students and young physicians aware of certain basic biochemical principles and it also provides opportunities for them to use these principles in analysing commonly occurring health-related problems (Montgomery et al 1996). Intelligent tutoring with interactive computer-based simulations of clinical cases have made this approach still more effective and useful (Blanchaer 1984, Money et al 1995). With the emergence of World Wide Web (Web) new horizons have opened for further development of this approach. The Web-based simulations of clinical cases are the modern version of problem-based learning. They facilitate distant and continuing all-life learning in Biochemistry. They are appropriate not only for clinical students, but also for pre-clinical students. The objective of this work is to design a programme for clinical case simulations to be solved by Medical University under- and post-graduate students taught in Biochemistry.
