Modelling aspects of manufacturing of printed circuit boards

Flexible Manufacturing Systems have caught the attention of several industrial sectors due to its versatility. Several problems arise when it comes down to designing production systems using this approach. Printed circuits boards manufacturing is chosen as a case of study. This paper is a contribution to modeling and analysis of production systems using temporized Petri-Nets. Performance variables results that use temporized Petri-Nets are compared with output data from the commercial software ARENA. As it relates to intelligent manufacturing systems the models obtained can be implemented in management software for flexible production due to its simplicity in terms of computation.
