摘要

Blast modeling provides a planning tool for under-standing and improving blasting operations. A blasting model should combine blast design with some aspects of blast management. A modular structure is suggested. A blast design module allows the input of all necessary variables and can be linked with existing mine planning systems. Modeling modules can be expected to provide realistic information of blasting practices and blast designs. A blast management module summarizes this information and allows the evaluation. However, all models should be questioned and consistently verified and will hopefully result in quod erat demonstrandum.
