Electric and hybrid electric vehicles: new product development through university/industry collaboration

The objective for this paper is to describe a university/industry collaborative effort to develop new products for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. The focus of the paper is on the Ohio Hybrid Bus Project and its partners. Special attentionis given to the development of the traction motor for the prototype hybrid bus. Additional potential new products for electrical manufacturers are also described.
