Attitude software is heavily influenced by the detailed AOCS hardware design of every given spacecraft separately.Re-usability and implicitly adequate standardisation of operational attitude software is thus of a fundamentally different nature when compared to orbit programs.Looking back at an history of more than 20 years of attitude software re-use in ESOC we review which actions and circumstances allowed to achieve a reasonable level of standardistaion notwithstanding some unfavourable facts. This standardisation wsa essentially made in attitude estimation,etc.. We cursorily highlight the salient elements of the relevant standardisation and make an invetory of attitude software re-use over the years.Based on the accumulated historical experience we give our appraisal about usefulness of standardisation with arguments in favour and against.
